Prof. Antonino Spinelli MD PhD is leading the Unit of Colon and Rectal Surgery and is Associate Professor of Surgery at the Humanitas University.

He trained for two years (2003-2005) at the University of Berlin – Charitè, and gained his PhD on enhanced recovery protocols in colorectal surgery in 2011.

He is dedicated to the development of innovative techniques in minimally invasive colorectal surgery.

Prof. Spinelli serves as Associate Editor for Colorectal Disease and as Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Crohn’s Colitis and for Coloproctology.

CARLO SELMI

Carlo Selmi is leading the Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology Unit at Humanitas research hospital and is Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Milan since 2006. He held a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Division of Rheumatology of the University of California at Davis between 2005 and 2015.

At Humanitas he leads a young group of physician scientists with wide research and clinical expertise, including periods working at foreign institutions.

The team holds dedicated clinics for rheumatoid arthritis, spondiloarthritis, connective tissue disease with dedicated clinics for systemic sclerosis and systemic lupus erythematosus, and is active in articular ultrasound, videocapillaroscopy, arthrocenthesis and joint injection of steroid or hyaluronic acid. Active in research since 2002 he has coauthored over 250 peer-reviewed publications with a Google Scholar H index of 55 and a total impact factor exceeding 1400 points.

His research track has been dedicated to organ-specific and systemic autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases, including the clinical epidemiology and pathogenetic mechanisms of autoimmune liver disease, connective tissue disease (particularly systemic sclerosis), and psoriatic arthritis.

Giuseppe Curigliano, MD, PhD, is the Head of the Division of Early Drug Development at European Institute of Oncology, in Milan, Italy.

He is a clinician and researcher specializing in early drug development for patients with solid tumors with a special commitment on breast cancer. He is also involved in translational research related to immunotherapy, precision medicine, and biomarker identification breast cancer models.

He is member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG) and of the Breast International Group (BIG) Immune Task Force. He is founding member of/and scientific chair for the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS). Dr Curigliano is a member of the ESMO Press & Media Affairs Committee from 2015 and he is serving on the ESMO Women for Oncology, ESMO Membership and ESMO Global Policy Commitees since 2016. He served as the scientific chair of the IMPAKT-ESMO meeting that was held in Brussels in 2014 and as “metastatic breast cancer track chair” of the ESMO 2014 meeting in Madrid.

He is an ESMO Faculty Member for rreast cancer and served on the Program Scientific Committee of the St Gallen Conference since 2011.

In 2017 he chaired the Scientific Program of the St Gallen Consensus Conference on Early Breast Cancer. He has contributed to over 210 peer-reviewed publications. He also serves on the European School of Oncology (ESO) faculty committee. He has been appointed as associate editor of the Breast Cancer Section for European Journal of Cancer, Editor of Annals of Oncology for the period 2014-2018, and serves as Co-Editor in Chief of The Breast, editor of Journal of Clinical Oncology, Breast Care, Current opinion in Oncology and Cancer Treatment Reviews.

In 2017 he was awarded with the first “Umberto Veronesi Memorial Award” for his innovative work on Immunotherapy for breast cancer.

Dr. Giuseppe Marinari has a thirty-year experience in bariatric surgery. He started at the University of Genoa in 1987 and collaborated in one of the most important bariatric centers of that time: a visitor to some of the most renowned international centers for obesity and obesity (Sweden, USA, Brazil, Belgium) in 2005 he becames the Head of Bariatric Surgery at the Hospital in which he grew up, S. Martino of Genoa.

In 2010, he moved to Humanitas Gavazzeni (Bergamo), where he created a high-volume Bariatric Center, representing a point of reference for obesity care for patients from all over the country.
